Installation Guide

⚠️ This article needs to be updated, we will write a new version in the following days.

In this guide, we will help you install Tiny Chat, a live chat software that integrates with Slack to enhance your customer service and support. So, let's dive in and get your chatbox up and running in no time!

In a few words

To install Tiny Chat, all you need to do is add an HTML <script> tag to the header of your website. It's the same installation process as with Google Analytics or Hotjar, for example. The <script> tag will be automatically generated during your onboarding, and you just need to copy and paste it onto your site yourself or send it to a colleague or your web provider.

If you only want to add Tiny Chat to specific pages, no problem! You can add the <script> tag only to the relevant pages.

Our onboarding

Right after creating an account on our platform, you will arrive at our onboarding.

1) The first step is to add our Slack app to your workspace and grant the necessary permissions. This will create a dedicated channel called #tiny-chat, where all your users' messages will flow.

You need to be an administrator of the Slack workspace to grant the necessary permissions to Tiny Chat.

2) The second step is super simple – you just need to provide us with the link to your company's website. This step is necessary to link the site to your Tiny Chat account, ensuring that only your company can install your Tiny Chat.

3) The third step is optional and allows you to add a touch of personality! You can choose a theme for your chatbox, which you can further refine and customize to your liking when you have access to your dashboard.

Add the <script> tag

The last step is to add the <script> tag to your website. But don't worry, you don't need to do it immediately. You can either do it yourself or pass the code to a colleague or website provider.

Once you have added the <script> tag to the header of your website, we will immediately receive a signal to validate that your Tiny Chat is installed correctly.

If your website uses WordPress, we recommend this instructional video on how to modify the header.

Your dashboard

Once the onboarding is complete, you will have access to your dashboard with the latest steps needed to make Tiny Chat work. Currently, Tiny Chat won't display on your website until you subscribe to the trial period or a subscription. We offer a flexible subscription with a 14-day trial, so feel free to check out this article for more details.

Once the subscription is activated, your dashboard will show statistics on your Tiny Chat usage.
